Linnea Gabbard

Vice President

My name is Linnea Gabbard, and I am a working artist and veterinary technician in the state of Arkansas. I am a dedicated member of the National GNSI and current President of the Arkansas GNSI Group, I'm excited to put my bid in for the role of Vice President. My experience and enthusiasm in leadership and community engagement makes me an ideal candidate for this position. As Arkansas group President, I’ve attended zoom drawing calls with other national members, organized quarterly drawing events for the year of 2024 and 2025, already having hosting two successful events at local forest preserves featuring a guest speaker and planning another for fall. These efforts have garnered curiosity in the GNSI and fostered enjoyment around the natural world and its marriage to art.

My leadership experience extends beyond GNSI, having served on county, state, and national levels in the Libertarian Party in the last 5 years (not serving any longer). As Outreach Director of the national party, I developed membership relations, brainstormed events and projects, and overall assisted the chair and board with any miscellaneous items. My accomplishments include establishing the first college party involvement at the University of Central Arkansas, creating an outreach manual for counties, and leading successful fundraisers and donor relations. I have also served as committee organizer and secretary on the county and state levels. In 2020 I served with The City of Hope, a nonprofit homeless organization in Arkansas as direct sounding board to the chair/founder.

As a working artist with juried show experience and a background in veterinary science, I bring a field work perspective to GNSI. My volunteer work with herpetological, raptor, and neonate feline efforts in Arkansas demonstrates my passion for science and community engagement. I'm excited to bring my skills to the role of Vice President and contribute to GNSI's mission. Thank you so much for considering me as we expand opportunity for the GNSI. If elected, I plan to be available as needed from the board and president, and to leverage my knowledge and connections to promote ecological opportunity and art education through GNSI.
