Marjorie Leggitt , a professional, self-employed scientific illustrator, uses both traditional and digital techniques to produce illustrations for professional research, trade, and textbook publications, and museum exhibits.
Starting her career at the Field Museum of Natural History as a invertebrate illustrator, Marjorie expanded her range of expertise to include botany, paleontology, paleobotany, biology, natural history and communication graphics. She is well known for her artistic versatility, ability to communicate with the client/scientist and execute the job on time and on budget.
In addition to her career as an illustrator, she teaches 25 courses in the Botanical Art & Illustration Certificate Program at Denver Botanic Gardens .
A member of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators since 1979, Marjorie has been a GNSI board member since 2000, and is a recipient of the GNSI's Distinguished Service Award.
