Graphic Designer applying for a Scientific Illustration Job
Just looking for some advice...I am a graphic designer with four years of experience in the field and a Bachelors of Art. I want to get into doing illustration or design work for museums and the best way for me to do that would probably be to get into scientific illustration, which I definitely have an interest in. What should I do to gain more experience with this type of illustration? I can easily draw or digitally manipulate images due to my background, but I'm not sure what the employers would be looking for.
There is a job opening for a scientific illustrator at my local museum and I'm going to go for it. I have no experience but hopefully my enthusiasm for illustration and my skills as an artist/designer will be enough to at least get my name out there. What advice do you all have?
