Nature Sketching and Journaling

Document your investigations in the natural world using the popular media of nature journaling. It combines both drawing and writing, increases observation skills and develops a relationship between art and science. This class appeals to those who have broad interests in both art and nature. Multiple mediums are covered and you can choose to use any medium based on your comfort level. Materials list will be provided upon enrollment.

Instructor Bio
Linda M. Feltner is an award-winning nature artist and educator. She combines the creativity of artistic design, with strict standards of scientific accuracy, into what has become her trademark. Her areas of expertise include painting and drawing, teaching national workshops and maintaining her flourishing freelance business in interpretive illustration. Linda has taught for the UW Scientific Illustration Certification Program, and currently teaches for the Art Institute of the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. Her aim is to provide a spark – to awaken curiosity and invite questions, to promote an appreciation for the complexity of nature and to foster a desire to protect it.
