2018 GNSI Conference Planning Meeting
2018 GNSI Conference Planning Meeting for the Greater Washington DC Chapter
Please join us Thursday, October 26th, for a meeting to hear about plans, give ideas and volunteer for this summer’s 2018 GNSI Conference hosted by the Greater Washington DC Chapter July 15-21, 2018. This marks the 50th Anniversary of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators which was started by illustrators at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) in 1968.
The Chapter is very excited about the opportunity to host this event, and already have significant planning underway including several great venues secured for what promises to be an amazing conference. The main events and attendee housing will be at American University and one day will be dedicated to being at the NMNH, including a plenary session in the Baird Auditorium and behind the scenes tours of various museum departments. The member’s exhibit will be at the prestigious American Academy of the Advancement of Science Art Gallery in Washington, DC. Several chapter members and others in more distant locations hold key planning positions on the conference team, but volunteers for other crucial conference related activities are needed. Contact Conference Chair, Joel Floyd, if you have any questions or input: [email protected], phone: 240-432-7496.
Please plan to attend this important chapter meeting to find out what is happening with the conference planning, and get involved!
